gather round, children, a nifty site run by daytrotter contributor gabe durham, is an aggregation of writings (both fictional & on literature) and observations and, of course, music. filed under this last catergory, gabe has created a pair of albums of remixes and mashups, including one called good news for people who like to get krunk which lays vocal work by andre 3000 & big boi of outkast over the music of modest mouse. check out these samples:
atlanta devil dance
float parks
the world rides everything
some of the mashes work better than others, but if you dig those three above, you should check out the rest of the eleven track album, which you can find and download here. (note: this is the clean edit version of the album; for the uncensored follow this link.) there's also another, newer collection of songs entitled for the beasties in the burroughs, for the beatles in britain, featuring music by the beastie boys, the beatles, sufjan, nelly furtado and others, available on the same page.
you may gather round, children for the music - and rightfully so - but why not poke through the rest of the site while you're there?
