anyone's guess tends to associate a certain cuteness, light & catchy cuteness, with musical acts from sweden. ida maria, however, a norwegian transplant set up in stockholm, is a punky exception.

the lack of lyrical diversity in "oh my god," the repeated, nearly chanted phrases ("put a price, put a price on my soul, put a price...") & chorus, which gain a headlong momentum as the song rushes towards the inevitable shrieking dissolution of the effectiveness of words, rather perfectly capture the sort of stunted, angsty frustration evoked by the title. this is a fun, addictively energized and hard-charging punk-pop song, of which, for the moment at least, anyone's guess simply can't get enough.
