jay-z & sharon jones share the dap kings

the prince of ballard has a series of remixes called the royal edits, posted on his site armed snobbery last september, including a well-meshed mashup of jay-z's "99 problems" and an instrumental track from brooklyn's the dap kings. (thanks to oscar at soul sides for pointing it out.) maybe you object to some of the lyrical content (as the man says, "if you don't like my lyrics, press fast forward") but jay-z sounds undeniably good backed by those sterling horns, no?

the dap kings teamed up with sharon jones to release the extremely fine album 100 days, 100 nights last fall, which if you have yet to have the pleasure you should find immediately; organic, soulful, blissful music and sharon jones has one of those voices to swoon over. here's one of my favorites from the record:

does anyone know the name of the dap-kings song that was sampled in the 99 problems remix?

could be "got to be the way it is pt.2," which was a daptone 7", but i'm not certain about that. suppose you could always try the prince of ballard himself (RITZBROTHERS @ gmail.com)
