megan palmer has an easy way with a song. the arrangements are fairly straightforward, mostly folk or country or of that shaded area where the two overlap - an area we here at 226 shrader like to call foltry - and her voice never strains to capture attention. if that sounds like killing her softly then please allow me to clarify: her second album, take you away, which came out last fall, is terrific, and there are three songs on offer below because, well, i couldn't choose. the whole of the album is worth the time, gang, and since the first run was only 500 copies, each hand silk screened, you'd better hurry along if you'd like to hear more of it.
megan palmer - matador
megan palmer - hair of the dog
megan palmer - don't take it too bad
you can, however, find loads of additional mp3s for free download, including an entire live show, over at palmer's website. and if you live near or around the east village, mp has a weekly gig at googie's lounge above the living room.
