by the unofficial reckoning of a.g. (which is admittedly shallow and influenced, to a certain degree, by reputation), the jack johnson road show will likely be the greenest tour on the circuit this summer. as he plays behind his new album, sleep through the static, including a final stop at the outside lands festival here in golden gate park in august, johnson will incorporate biodiesel tour buses and generators; biodegradable food service cartons; recycled paper; organic and environmentally-conscious merch and a host of other eco-friendly actions you can read more about on his website. he's also developed and launched a community portal called all at once, which, among other things, will provide fans attending his shows a place to organize carpools. an example well worth highlighting, celebrating, and, where & when possible, adopting.
but of course even those efforts aren't enough, at least on their own. if you have ideas on how to promote green behavior & awareness head over to 350.org and share 'em, okay? as a reward for getting involved, here's your very own copy of a set jack performed on kcrw back in 2003. just my way of saying thanks.
