a kind reader of a.g. named amy sent in this fuzzed out & blissfully falsetto cautionary track from new yorkers the woods.
woods - be still
quite a warning, isn't it? - "be still, be still, the beast will break you and your will, and all my attention, all my attention" - and not for, not just for, not primarily for the moment of attack, this beast & its awful reckoning, but for the aftermath. it's then, destitute, spirit broken, that you'll lose his attention and, implicitly, his sympathy; a possibility both repulsive and frightening.
"be still" comes off the woods' 2007 album at rear house. you can find out a bit more, not too much but a bit more, about the band on their official website. they'll also be playing a few shows in austin during the upcoming sxsw festival.
(thanks amy!)
