a few choice pieces that have been sitting tucked into various corners of the anyone's guess mansion & patiently awaiting someone to show them off:
skipping girl vinegar - one chance
"one chance" is a loose & sort of bluesy affair with added pace, and the first single from the upcoming debut album, sift the noise, by the melbourne band skipping girl vinegar.
travel by sea - gone
days of my escape, the second album from travel by sea, a long distance duo who compose and record their brand of warm & enchanting acoustic-based music while hundreds of miles apart, was released by aquarium drunkard's autumn tone records earlier this spring.
american princes - watch as they go
american princes and their winningly modern take on 80s rock call little rock, arkansas home. there are several tracks from their newest album, other people, available for download on the band's myspace page.
the rural alberta advantage - don't haunt this place
the rural alberta advantage now call toronto home, though each of the mission of this trio remains unchanged: to play music that tries to "embrace the advantage of growing up in alberta." "don't haunt this place" comes from their album hometowns, from which you can hear more here.
twilight sad - here, it never snowed. afterwards it did
twilight sad come from "the sticks outside glasgow" and have been earning good notices since their debut in 2006. their latest effort, an ep named after the song above, reworks a handful of songs from their lp fourteen autumns and fifteen winters, and includes a cover of the daniel johnston song "some things last a long time."

elbo.ws and hypemachine say theres a daniel johnston track in this post??????
that there is. the song title in the very last line.
Almost all of that Rural Alberta Advantage album is good. I like "Don't Haunt This Place" the most but there are some pretty worthwhile songs on it and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Also, that anonymous commenter is just the sort of reader I'm sure you love.
