kid tunes :: frances england

frances england, one of the better children- and family-oriented indie folk singers around, recorded and released her first cd, fascinating creatures, as a fundraiser for her son's preschool here in san francisco, the sunset cooperative nursery school. now her second album, family tree, which was partially inspired by the birth of her second son, is just out and features sixteen big-hearted, clever & slightly wacky songs - covering such topics as best friends, tea parties, bug hunts, sleep-deprived parents & train rides to grandma's house - that speak to kids and to mothers (and, um, uncles) both. have a listen to a couple examples from family tree and one, "charlie parker," from fascinating creatures, below and then find out how and where you can pick up copies of the cds.

frances england - don't fly away

also, tomorrow morning, 12 july, at the discovery museum in sausalito, england will have her cd release party for family tree. 6-8$, and don't forget to bring the chitlins.
