the hardly strictly bluegrass festival, one of the absolute high points of the san francisco year, just added sam beam, of iron & wine, to an already studded lineup (greg brown, iris dement, robert plant & alison krauss, gogol bordello, loudon wainwright, bonnie prince billy, etc). we may be more excited about this weekend, the eighth annual h.s.b., than we are for outside lands, not least because hardly strictly is, of course, free. jeff tweedy's performance during last year's opening night was one of the best shows we saw all year. dates for this year are 5-8 october, and it looks like sam beam will play on the 5th.
sam beam - die (live)
greg brown - going, going, gone
robert plant & alison krauss - gone, gone, gone (done moved on)
loudon wainwright - daughter

RAD. This is shaping up to be one of the best HSB fests yet.
