seattle hip hop duo common market have a new lp, tobacco road, due next month, and the band sent over copy of the title track this week along with notice that they'll be coming down to san francisco for a show at the independent on 1 october. promo materials call tobacco road "an allegorical tale of service to the community from the perspective of an active participant," which obviously situates it squarely in the anyone's guess wheelhouse. add to that the addictive piano line strung throughout and we have a borderline song obsession on our hands. have a listen:
