the latest album from the bay area's own michael zapruder, dragon chinese cocktail horoscope, recorded and mixed at tiny telephone studio, will see release later this fall. we were great fans of the previous effort by zapruder and his rain of frogs, new ways of letting go - nor were we alone - so news of a new album was greeted with some measure of anticipation.

the first single from d.c.c.h., "ads for feelings" (see the video here), has more of the experimentalist-pop vibe for which zapruder and his rain of frogs have become know, but after a few listens it's the minimalist ballad "harbor saints," filled with ambiguity and doubt ("find the angels are all sleeping, cause there's nowhere that they have to be"), that stands clearly out. to these ears, at least. have a listen:
