a quick turn through some recent videos that've received the anyone's guess hug of approval.
first up is one of the six songs justin vernon and bon iver recorded with vincent moon and the folks over at la blogotheque during their trip to paris. each of the videos is fantastic, really, especially the skinny love by candlelight, and we could have chosen any of them. but we were taken by the parisian scenes cut into the beginning of "lump sum" and, well, we also flat out love this song.
bon iver - lump sum (live)
we've lauded joe pug before, and this song, "hymn 101," specifically, and now he's gone and made a pretty durn good music video for it. love the drifter troubadour framing - especially the outro walk-off into the dusty western countryside - and the stillness of the audience inside the saloon.
joe pug - hymn 101
and finally two from outside lands:
there are any number of quality videos from this weekend, which you can find with a bit of search around, but these two stood out to us.
beck - everybody's gotta learn sometime (live at outside lands)
broken social scene - ibi dreams of pavement (live on kcrw)
